Casa by Moda welcomes 10 new hires

Leeds, West Yorkshire

As we aim to meet demand for new rental homes across the UK, we have welcomed a trio of new starters for Casa by Moda with the brand continuing to grow at pace, bringing our total number of new hires this year to 10.

Mike Craddock, Simon Gardner and Cameron Boland all joined the Casa by Moda team in recent weeks as we continue to build momentum in the undersupplied single family homes market.

Mike Craddock has joined the business as a senior development manager from Brierley Homes. Working alongside Land Director Chris Procter, he brings a wealth of knowledge and experience from his surveying and housing background, specifically in the Yorkshire region. In his new role, Craddock will oversee the delivery of our new Casa homes across the UK.

Cameron Boland joins the business from Keepmoat Homes as Land Manager. His previous experience within land and partnerships management will support the acquisitions team as it actively seeks out new sites for Casa across the Midlands and South Yorkshire.

Meanwhile Simon Gardner has joined the team as a Project Manager from Moda Living sister company Caddick Developments. With more than 20 years of industry experience, including seven within Casa's parent company Caddick Group, Gardner will manage the delivery of Casa neighbourhoods and work alongside contractors to the point of practical completion.

Our new starters bring the total number of employees that have joined since the beginning of 2022 to 10. Following our launch last year, seven Caddick Developments and Caddick Land team members joined the Casa by Moda team to support our new venture in its delivery of 5,000 new homes by 2025 worth a combined £1.5bn.

Rob Gill joined Casa as Head of Acquisitions while Jordan Martin, Jonny Whitely and Harry Barker joined as Land Managers for Yorkshire and the North East, North West and Midlands and South respectively. Kate Sheehan has joined the team as Marketing Manager with Technical Director Andy Cramer and Technical Manager Jonathan Philpott completing the wave of new hires.

The new hires come as we prepare to start work on our first single family homes neighbourhoods, as we're set to be on site with 700 new homes by the end of 2022 across four Casa neighbourhoods.

Casa by Moda Chief Executive Johnny Caddick said: “Work is well underway at Casa by Moda. The new additions to the team bring a huge wealth of talent and experience that will drive the business forwards as it continues to meet demand for quality, professionally managed and accessibly priced new homes for renters across the UK. A huge welcome to all our new team members – I look forward to working with each of you as we build this exciting and crucial new living platform within the Moda Living portfolio.”

Moda Living launched the Casa by Moda brand at the end of 2021 and is backed by global institutional capital. Built on Moda’s core brand priorities of outstanding resident experience, health and wellbeing, ESG and leading technology, we will deliver quality homes for rent in suburban locations at accessible price points.

Leveraging best-in-class resident service, brand partnerships and forward-thinking initiatives around smart technology and renewable energy, Casa by Moda will provide residents with an exceptional living experience and vibrant social communities.

With long-term renewable leases of up to three-years in length available and no upfront fees or deposits, we provide true security of tenure on long-term renewable leases without requiring upfront fees or deposits. Our new neighbourhoods will be targeting a broad demographic at an accessible price point, with homes to suit all ages, budgets and lifestyles.

Technology-enabled neighbourhoods will connect residents to their communities through a bespoke app, giving our residents the power to manage their lifestyle through technology, form logging maintenance issues to booking a dog walker or organising a resident club or event.

All homes will also be fitted with smart technology sensors that will monitor environmental performance in real time. This allows our residents to monitor their energy consumption while ensuring living conditions are optimal for a healthy, happy lifestyle within their homes.

Casa by Moda neighbourhoods deliver much needed and price accessible housing across the UK, which has a chronic shortage of quality, professionally managed homes for rent at a time when more and more people are renting for longer in the country. Almost 20% of all homes in the UK are rented, with that number set to increase to up to 23% by 2025. Casa by Moda neighbourhoods address the growing need for modern homes for rent to suit all ages and requirements across the UK.

All Casa by Moda activity, from development to long-term operation, is guided by Moda Living’s cross-platform ESG Strategy, Next Generation Futures. Designed around the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals, the programme includes a roadmap to net zero carbon operations and sets out targets and standards across the business’s environmental, social and governance operations.
